Cancer Safety Net

Cancer is a disease that drains a patient and their families in many ways. Many of the expenses related to the disease occur after the operations have been done. Statistics show that up to 70% of the expenses related to the disease aren’t medical in nature. The expenses come from living life such as mortgage, bills and children. Many people have insurance that covers the medical aspect of the disease but not the life after aspect and trying to get your life back in order. If you are unaware there are insurance companies out there that offer cancer insurance to help with the life bills. Rate seem to be pretty reasonable as it is a supplemental form of insurance. I’ve seen some quotes between 20-30 bucks a month. Aflac, Mutual of Omaha and American Fidelity Insurance are a few companies that offer it. You can also get policies for your kids in case they fall ill throughout their lives. Personally I think it’s a good safety net to help out when things get rough. You have to do research though because from what I’m gathering some companies find a way to make this policy interfere with your regular level of coverage and degrade your plan. Choose wisely. In this society we live in 1 in 4 people will develop cancer at some point their lives. I guess it’s a byproduct of the world we live in with all our waste and radiation. Eat healthy. Exercise regularly and have a back up plan just in case and that’s exactly what this is. King on.
