The human brain can only stay focused for so long. In this throwaway society many people suffer from attention deficits because of the constant external stimulation they are bombarded with on a daily basis. Every place our eyes move forces us to process whatever is in that direction. With all this over stimulation the average person finds it hard to focus their energies on a specific task for any given amount of time. I learned many years ago about this trick from a wise man. He was into all kinds of things and I asked him how he managed to stay focused long enough to master any particular thing he had his mind on. He said it was simple really; whatever it is focus on it for 20 minutes and then take a break. He read somewhere that the average person can only stay focused for about 20 minutes before their focus begins to wane. It was scientifically proven in some study on the brain. He said he focused on whatever it was for 20 minutes then he took a ten minute break and then focused for another 20 minutes. He repeated this cycle until he couldn’t stand anymore for the day. I thought that it was bulls**t until I actually did one when I was attempting to learn something. To my surprise it worked and ever since then I have used that method when conquering new ground. That is why the podcasts I do on here are broken up the way they are. It gives your brain time to process what is being said while restoring your focus. Most people can’t sit still long enough to learn anything. I guess its hardwired in us from ancient times because if we stay in one place too long we would became the hunted. Little things go a long way in this life. Application and execution are what count most in anything. Just another ruby for your crown. Stay Regal.
