Myth: If it doesn’t kill you it makes you stronger
Every time a human being is faced with a stressful situation Cortisol is released in the body. Cortisol is a hormone shown to have debilitating effects on a person over time; it also turns you into tub of lard gradually. Every time you survive a stressful situation it cuts years off of your life whether you want to admit it or not. It puts strain on your heart and your conscious. People always throw that saying at you when the Earth czar is pissing on your parade as if it’s going to get you through the situation any easier. Stress is an unavoidable poisonous aspect that we all must endure unfortunately. If we triumph over the situation we may gain intestinal fortitude and perspective but what good is it if you aren’t going to be around long enough to use it to your advantage?
Cold part about it is that in order build a kingdom the amount of stress you must subject yourself to is the reason why most kings never enjoy the fruits of their labor. Most kings die from coronaries or strokes; very few get to see the harvest. Double-edged sword I suppose. The kingdom is a gift and a curse in the same breath. There is no other way for me to live this life but pursuing a kingdom and by doing so I am contributing to my demise. The beauty of human folly in Technicolor; the tragic comedy of a king’s life that few are brave enough to embrace. It’s quite poetic actually; I believe in building the kingdom and leaving a legacy so much that I am willing to kill myself in the process. F**k it so be it; I gotta reach the mountain top at all costs. The burial plot or the crematorium is waiting on us all; a life without a crown is the life for a clown.
